The work is presented in the form of a plaster cast featuring a bread covered with gold leaf.
The artist's fascination with gold as a potentially metaphorical and symbolic material is recurrent. The association of a precious material to the molded object – bread or the popular portuguese expression “papo-seco” – enhances different readings and meanings about its social condition, and consequently, the cultural habits of its consumer.
